MEET JOHN DOE – OPERA WORKSHOP and EXCERPTS PREMIER in CINCINNATI, OH — Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) opera program have selected Daniel Catán’s unfinished opera “Meet John Doe” for their Opera Fusion: New Works Workshop in January, 2015. Under the guidance of Andrea Puente Catán, chief editor and conductor/composer Maestro Eduardo Diazmuñoz, Michaela Eremiášová, and Jairo Duarte-Lopez, have been commissioned to complete Daniel Catan’s “Meet John Doe.” See Press release

Cali School of Music. Composed in collaboration with Michaela Eremiášová. Based on the play “Bodas de sangre” by Federico Garcia Lorca.

OPERA COMMISSION: Together with Michaela Eremiášová,  we have been selected by the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University to compose a new operatic work for December 2012. The opera will be based on the play Bodas de Sangre (Blood Wedding) by Federico Garcia Lorca.

Commissioned by the Kurt-Weill Festival in collaboration with the George Eastman House and the Eastman School of Music. Films from the 1910’s to 1930’s by  Moholy-Nagy, Lotte Reiniger, and Walter Ruttmann
